Easter Egg in Android 4.2 Jelly Bean Hints At Next Version of Android
It looks like Google has an ‘easter egg’ hidden away in the latest version on Android (Jelly Bean – v4.2). Does this easter egg hint at what the next flavour of Android will be called?
Google has a long history of naming their various versions of their mobile operating system after desserts – and in alphabetical order – Cupake, Donut, Eclair, Frozen Yogurt, Gingerbread and Jelly Bean. So what will ‘K‘ be? Judging by the cheeky coders at Google one can find the hint rather easily. All you need to do is go to Settings -> About Phone and repeatedly tap ‘Android version‘.
Up pops a smiling Andoird-Jellybean hybrid picture. Long press on it and the screen will be replaced with ‘floating jelly’ beans. Rotating the screen refreshes the jelly beans (which you can even flick away with your finger). Turn the screen a few more times and eventually along will float a Candy Cane – just like below.
So what do you think? Is this a hint at the next version being called ‘Kandy Kane’? Others seem to think it may be called ‘Key Lime Pie’ even though there is no pie in this easter egg. All this talk of desserts is making me hungry. Grab some sweets and comment below.
